Your Emotional Well-Being during (Peri)Menopause

Two weeks on and my heart is still buzzing after hosting our first Menopause Well-Being Workshop—what a beautiful reminder of the power of women coming together! The warmth of the circle, the shared experiences, and the reassurance that none of us are alone on this journey were truly special. In the February circle, we shared our personal experiences of (peri)menopause and inspired each others with supportive strategies and ideas. We also explored the virtues of REST during perimenopause—so essential as our hormonal system shifts and starts to recalibrate (often from our late 30s and early 40s) and needs extra support. What’s coming next? ✨ March & April Workshops: Mental Well-Being in (Peri)Menopause ✨ On top of changes in intensity or frequency of menstrual bleeds, one of the first signs of perimenopause can be emotional —anxiety, overwhelm, intense emotions (rage or anger!), loss of confidence, brain fog, or even a sense of joy slipping away. Because those signs are not often enough associated with perimenopause, some women can be left confused or even dismissed by the medical profession (about a third of women approaching their doctor for cognitive and mood symptoms of the menopause will be wrongly prescribed anti-depressants…). We will explore the connection between fluctuating levels of hormones of the (peri)menopause and mood and cognitive functions (fascinating!), and how to support ourselves. But also (the best part), reflect on how this time of emotional discomfort could be an opportunity to reassess our priorities, let go of what no longer serves or even reconnect to our core values to enter the next part of our life with purpose and joy. Think of how plants in Autumn and Winter shed the no-longer needed leaves or will benefit from some pruning to emerge in the Spring with new strength and vitality. Many women will tell you that post-menopause life is the best part! (I think I am getting there 😉). The March & April workshops on Mental Well-Being are not a repeat. You can attend the April one if you haven’t attended the March workshop, and I recommend you attend the April one if you have attended the March one as the themes and tools will weave into each others. The Menopause circles/workshops will go on until mid-June (and restart in September 2025).
